More than just an idea.

In 1999, Pat Carr, Air Force veteran, came up with the concept of utilizing artificial turf for wildlife habitat modification to reduce bird strikes around runways.  Realizing how the product could address a myriad of safety and erosion control issues on the airfield, Carr sought out artificial turf industry experts who, together, designed a system that eventually led to 7 patents for aviation artificial turf. The product testing process was the most extensive ever accomplished in the artificial turf industry. In December of 2000 the first ever aviation grade artificial turf was installed at Midway Airport in Chicago.
